Community named a distinguished hospital

Tuft named to Indiana Dunes Tourism board
VALPARAISO – Scott Tuft of Valparaiso has been appointed to the Indiana Dunes Tourism Board of Directors. The appointment was made by Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas.

PORTER – The Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District has announced plans to increase fares for commuters by 5 percent. NICTD operated the South Shore Railroad, a commuter rail service that goes from Michiana Regional Airport in South Bend to the Loop in downtown Chicago.

Triskell moving to Innovation Park
SOUTH BEND – Triskell, a pharmaceutical systems company based in Sarasota, Fla., has announced it is moving to Innovation Park in South Bend.
It will become the ninth tenant in the park since it opened in 2009. Triskell’s founder is Jean LeFloch, a 1975 graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He founded the company last year.

ArcelorMittal profit declines in 3rd quarter
BRUSSELS, Belgium – ArcelorMittal announced its third quarter profits fell 50 percent compared to one year ago. The decline was attributed to an uncertain economy.
Net income was $659 million, down from $1.4 billion one year ago. Steel shipments rose to 23.2 million tons.
