Expansion at AmeriPlex at the Port
PORTAGE – AmeriPlex at the Port has broken ground on a 50,000-square-foot multi-tenant building to be called The Belmont. The building will be home to Silvent North America, Falk PLI and Holladay Properties.
To date, 228 of 400 acres have been developed by Holladay and some $160 million in development. The Belmont was financed by American Savings Bank.

Falk-PLI expands at Ameriplex at the Port
PORTAGE – Falk PLI Engineering & Surveying Inc. will expand its headquarters, creating 34 new jobs by 2016.
The new office will be 9,000 square feet at AmeriPlex at the Port. The project will be finished in the fall. Falk PLI currently has 33 full-time employees in Indiana and will be looking to hire engineers, technicians and administrate support workers.

Christenson Chevrolet completes addition
HIGHLAND – Christenson Chevrolet has completed work on a 17,000-square-foot addition at its dealership on Indianapolis Boulevard.
The project includes an upgrade of the used car showroom and service department. The effort was brought about when General Motors, the parent company for Chevrolet, urged its dealerships to create a more modern look.

GARY – Chicago developer Eastlake Management & Development Corp. has met with members of the Gary/Chicago International Airport about a development at the airport.
Eastlake is owned by Elzie Higginbottom, who wants to create a charter and jet fueling operation similar to that operated by Gary Jet Center. If the proposal is approved by the Airport Authority, Eastlake would build a 30,000-square-foot hangar.

Dawn Foods to move to Merrillville
MERRILLVILLE – Dawn Foods, which operates bakeries in Munster and Crown Point, has announced it will consolidate the two operations into a new location in the AmeriPlex at the Crossroad in Merrillville.
