Porter-Starke hosts annual Turkey Trot

VALPARAISO – Porter-Starke Services Foundation will hold its eighth annual Turkey Trot Thanksgiving morning.

Some 1,800 runners are expected for the 5K and 10K races. Registration is 7 a.m. and the run begins at 8 a.m.

The event begins at Valparaiso High School Fieldhouse at 2727 N. Campbell St. Proceeds will benefit Porter-Starke Services Foundation to support mental health and addiction treatment services.

NWI to host girls softball world series

HAMMOND – South Shore Sports Promotions has announced the 2012 National Softball Association Girls Fast Pitch “B” World Series will be held in Northwest Indiana the week of July 19 to 26.

The event will also return the region in2014.

Leon’s Triathlon set for Sunday at Wolf Lake
